In Rwanda, the REKA project (“STOP” in Kinyarwanda) helps reduce gender-based, age-based, and disability-based violence against women, children, and people with disabilities, while improving the resilience of survivors of violence through games, sports, and the arts. The aim is to strengthen strategies for preventing such violence and improve mechanisms for supporting survivors through:
• 2 sports kits based on Playdagogie
• 10 trainers certified in Playdagogie
• 18 supervisors trained in the use of Playdagogie
• 100 club members introduced to Playdagogie
In total, more than 34,400 children will benefit from the actions carried out during the project in two districts in eastern (Kirehe) and western (Rutsiro) Rwanda. To carry out this project, PLAY is working in consortium with Humanity & Inclusion's Rwanda program and in collaboration with Caritas Rwanda.
