Football, beloved worldwide, often faces barriers that limit access, particularly for women and girls in South-eastern Europe. The Goal2Include project aims to address these challenges by promoting inclusion through football, advancing gender equality, and fostering community cohesion.
The projects primary objectives are to develop resources and strategies for better inclusion of women in football, build a diverse pool of trained leaders, expand sport for development programs, and share best practices across the EU.
The project is divided into three phases: preparation, implementation, and sustainability. During the preparation phase, it focuses on planning, coordination, and convening partners.
Recently, in Sofia, Bulgaria during the implementation phase, a comprehensive Toolkit for social inclusion was developed and a 4-day Training of Trainers was also successfully completed, which included both theoretical and practical components. This training emphasized strategies to increase participation of girls and women in football, particularly from marginalized communities.
The project “Goal2Include” is being implemented by four partners. Coordinator is TAKT - Together Advancing Common Trust (Skopje, North Macedonia) and other partners Champions Factory (Sofia, Bulgaria), HNK Gorica (Zagreb, Croatia) and Play International (Paris, France).
The dedication and enthusiasm of the partners and trainers are driving the success of Goal2Include. As we move forward, we are excited to see the positive impact of our collective efforts on communities across partner countries, promoting a more inclusive future through football.
