On Sunday 23 September 2018, the Radio France group and PLAY International joined forces to celebrate the sport. For the 4th edition, 2,613 participants were able to discover a round house transformed into a huge playground for the occasion. A total of 16 sporting activities, including 4 solidarity activities, were offered to the public. Back in pictures, video and through social networks on this day of mobilization!

16 SPORTS ACTIVITIES INCLUDING 4 SOLIDARITY ACTIVITIES

210 people put on their sneakers and took the start line of the Vertigo race, 100% vertical and in solidarity, in order to collect donations and support PLAY International.

The runners express themselves:

"What motivated me was more[for] the association than[for] sport with the idea of working for a cause," says a runner interviewed by France 3.

2 internship students, Kevin and Lee-Lou tell us that at 2 "we raised 717€ [...] Together, we help finance PLAY International's education through sport programs. »

The best collector of this 2018 edition, Elisa Turrioni, says she is "very proud to have taken up the challenge of the 22 floors of the radio house and delighted to have been able to raise awareness among my entourage about educational projects so that today's children will tomorrow be adults with values of diversity, sharing and respect. »

101 people trained in solidarity! In studio 104, they benefited from a hip hop yoga class, led by the Humble Warrior collective and a crossfit course with coach Lucile Woodward. On the top floor of the Maison de la Radio, on the panoramic terrace and facing the Eiffel Tower, a second hip hop yoga class and a fitness class combining muscle strengthening and cardio have been set up.

Lucile Woodward, ambassador of PLAY International and faithful sponsor of this sports festival tells us"[I am] proud to give my day to PLAY International. 2 exceptional courses, 2 unforgettable experiences for a cause that is so dear to my heart. Educating children through sport is real life".

More than 1500 people tried 13 free sports activities organized by partner clubs and federations in the various areas of the Maison de la Radio, including the Agora, the nave, the passageways and the outdoor garden. Boxing rings, athletics and fencing tracks, badminton, connected rowers and e-sport, table tennis, photo exhibition, osteopathy, children's boom, hiking, Hip Hop demonstration and closed-eyed dancing... there was something for everyone!

A 100% SOLIDARITY EVENT TO FIGHT AGAINST SEDENTARY LIFESTYLES AND PROMOTE AN ACTIVE LIFESTYLE

Putting people in motion and allowing as many people as possible to discover sports activities is the purpose of the sports festival organised on 23 September at the Maison de la radio.

This day was marked by the presence of many personalities from the sports and education sectors who support PLAY International and the fight against sedentary lifestyles.

The Minister of Sports, Roxana Maracineanu and the President of Radio France, Sibyle Veil, came to encourage the action of PLAY International.

"The sports festival continues this Sunday all over France, particularly at the headquarters of Radio France, a partner of the event. The round house is open to the public and offers sports activities in partnership with PLAY International and several federations to fight against sedentary lifestyles," says Roxana Maracineanu.

Top athletes, ambassadors of PLAY International, came to share their time, energy and experience at the Sports Festival: Lucile Woodward (State Diploma Fitness Coach), Pierre Rabadan (former captain of the Stade Français Paris Rugby), Arnaud Assoumani (six-time Paralympic long jump medalist), Aladji Ba (three-time Paralympic medallist 400m), Cécilia Berder (five-time French fencing champion), Astrid Guyart (five-time world fencing champion) and Raphaël Poulain (former professional rugby).

By participating in this gathering, everyone has engaged in an active but also supportive approach since all registrations are donations entirely donated to the NGO PLAY International. Co-organizer of the event, this operation allows the NGO PLAY International to finance its education through sport programs. Since the first edition of the vertigo race at Tour First in 2013 and again in 2015 at Maison de la Radio, the operation has raised €853,221 for PLAY International. This 4th edition of Radio France celebrates sport with PLAY International highlighted the Active School Playdogy programme, an educational method of awareness and prevention that uses sports games as an educational tool to meet the challenges posed by sedentary lifestyles (4th cause of global mortality and 1st cause of avoidable mortality).
